Baker College Online Posts 6.4 Percent Spring Enrollment Increase
FLINT, Mich. -
Officials at Baker College Online today announced a 6.4 percent increase in spring quarter online enrollment compared to the same period in 2006. A total of 4,010 undergraduate students attended online classes exclusively during spring quarter 2007.
"While class sizes for other distance learning programs are increasing, Baker Online averages 11.43 students per class," said Dr. Julia Teahen, president, Baker College Online. "Baker's small classes are conducive to a dynamic learning environment, where students enjoy interaction with a diverse group of people from around the world and from all walks of life."
A total of 24,377 students throughout the Baker College system took Baker Online classes this spring quarter. This total includes:
4,928 students who took 100 percent of their classes online, including 4,010 undergraduate students and 918 MBA students
6,738 students who took a combination of online classes and campus-based classes
12,711 students who took campus-based classes that included some online coursework
This spring, 918 students earning their MBAs exclusively online were enrolled at Baker Center for Graduate Studies.
